Nativity Parish offers various Religious Education opportunities, including:

CCD

Our CCD classes for public school students meet on Tuesday and Wednesday (with the family choosing which session to sign up for) from 5:00 to 6:15. For questions or information, contact the Religious Education Office at 412-655-1565 or by email at NativityRED@comcast.net. See this year’s calendar below.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD
Children from age 3 through first grade are invited to experience the Sunday readings on their own level through the Children’s Liturgy of the Word at our 10:00 mass on Sundays during the school year. Children are sent forth from the congregation during the Liturgy of the Word to hear the readings from the Lectionary for Children and to experience crafts and other activities. No registration is needed.

RCIA
Entry into the Catholic Church for adults or older children takes place through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). Anyone interested in more information can contact the rectory.

BAPTISM PREPARATION
Parents preparing to have their children baptized have an opportunity to reflect on the Sacrament of Baptism. Families register when they contact the rectory to schedule their baby’s baptism.

SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
Students preparing for First Reconciliation and First Communion take part in either our CCD program or St. Katharine Drexel School in second grade. Students prepare for Confirmation through the same programs in eighth grade.
